NEWS | Focus on discipline for Horne

Richard Horne says the focus for the Dons is on improving their discipline when they take on West Wales Raiders on Sunday.

The game at the Keepmoat Stadium represents a big chance for Horne’s side to pick up their first win of the new campaign.

He said: “For us it’s about building on our performance last week, we were in control for large parts so there are areas we have to be better.

“The biggest area of improvement for us is discipline with and without the ball, we’ve been giving away far too many and allowing teams to get up the field easily.

“We’re still in the mindset of thinking we have to score whenever we have the ball when really we can just build pressure and end sets the way we want to.”

Horne says the game against the Raiders gives him a chance assess which players may come into the fold having missed out in recent weeks.

He added: “Selection will be based on performance as we’ve got some boys sat on the sidelines that are ready to go, it would be unfair if players in front of them aren’t performing and they don’t get a shot.

“We’ll have a good look at it and there probably will be a few changes within the squad and that competition for places is good to have.”
